2025 Hobie 16 State Title

Two teams from Geraldton attended the Hobie 16 State Championships held at Jervoise Bay Sailing Club, Woodmans Point Perth.  Murray Woodhead and Phil Epps both reunited with their daughters, Tayla and Caitlyn for the event.

In typical Perth conditions the mornings of light, shifty and variable Easterlies made for some trying conditions, whilst the afternoon sea breezes saw some flat out racing.

While Phil & Cait were able to stretch their legs in the windy conditions, they weren't able to back this up when it was lighter finishing 8th overall.  Murray & Tayla however, were awesomely consistent through the moderate conditions enabling them to achieve a sensational 4th place overall in a fleet of World  Championship contenders.

Hobie WA introduced a medium and heavy weight division for this years champs.  Congratulations to Murray for winning the Medium weight and Phil for winning the Heavy weight competition.
