This is a two day course where upon Successful Completion instructors will be able to teach participants how to sail from the framework developed by Australian Sailing.

Sailing not only uses physical skills but also develops intellectual skills. It is a sport that requires sailors to take responsibility for not only themselves but also their crew & boat. Sailors learn valuable lessons & develop attributes and transferrable skills that will help them in the future.

GYC is able to provide the sailing equipment (including boats and buoyancy vests) and training venue to get your participants out on the water.

Pricing starts from $850pp and can be tailored to suit your needs.

Course pre-requisites are as follows;

  • Be over 16 years old.
  • Be water confident.
  • Be sailing competent.
  • Hold a current Working with Children check.
  • Complete the online Instructor General Principles (free eLearning modules. Approximately two hours to complete).
  • Hold a current ‘Provide First Aid’ certificate.
  • Hold a Recreational Skippers Ticket. (this can be incorporated into the program)
  • Hold an Australian Sailing Powerboat Handling certificate. (this can be incorporated into the program)
